A WORLD OF COLOURS.....

I was born in `77 on Østerbro in Copenhagen as an only child.........

Early on people noticed my drawing skills..... I was soon known as "the girl who´s good at drawing"....

In 1996 I graduated from Christianshavns Gymnasium (high school diploma).

Summer 1997 I was admitted to the Royal Danish Academy of Arcitecture, by that time I had fallen ill and unfortunately it only got worse.... Therefore I had to discontinue my education as an arcitect, much to my regret.....

People often mention the word "tattoo" when they refer to my art...... I can understand that. My art is related to the art of tattoo in the way that we both use very sharp outlines.....and then there are the motives. They can also seem similar...... :)

My art branches into at least two different directions..... The adult art (with bimbo's) and the childish art with cute figures.... I enjoy working in both directions. :)

Sometimes I also paint abstract......

My greatest skill however is in the cartoony "tattoo"-like paintings...... :) This is what I do best.




I´m very inspired by anything related to pop culture!
I enjoy kitch, camp, graffitti art, cartoons and find great inspiration in music. I love bands such as Joy Division, Sonic Youth and other bands that can move me and give me an emotional experience.
Generally my taste is broad..... Musically I cover a wide field from The Carpenters to Rammstein.  ;)
 




I´m a huge fan of Hello Kitty....!!    :-D  ...and generally anything "kawaii" (cute). I´m looking more and more to japanese pop culture....I find it fascinating with its mix of something very, very cute and something sexually very free and untabooed.    :)




As you can see, several of my paintings are sexual in their contents.....
My aim is not to shock or offend people through this (I´ve never been much of a provocateur really...)  If I have a mission at all, it is to set people free sexually..... It is my hope that people who watch my erotic paintings see the beauty in the naked (female) body and see the works of art for what they are.....Playfull, happy, colourfull expressions of style and beauty.     :)





.....There are no deeper message in my paintings.... No hidden meaning that people have to search for to understand the work of art....... My paintings are very simple. They are `just´ decorative, and have no deeper layers......
I´m an aesthete by heart, and care deeply for the composition and  the choise of colours!  My motives have to be beautiful first and foremost, or otherwise posess some kind of aestethics and style.....   :)  There are usually no story attached to the motive..... A girl eating a banana is just a girl eating a banana.....  :) 

 

 
When I paint, I work in acrylics exclusively....
. My drawings are carried out by color pencils and black marker......   :) 





My trademark is the rounded shapes, the fat outlines and the clear colours......
Some might call my works of art kitch or bad taste..... That I would take as a great compliment.   ;)
